The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has declared Wednesday, 23rd of August, 2016 a day of National mourning for the death of two labour workers who died during a protest in Nasarawa state last month.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the National labour leader, NLC, Ayuba Wabba, said the union have set a day aside to mourn two of her workers who died during a labour protest in Nasarawa state for unpaid salaries.
"It's a sad news to hear of the death of two of our workers who died while fighting for their right. Therefore, the union has decided to mourn them on August 23 as a sign of respect.
According to him, the union will not cease to continue their strike if the state government fails to meet their demands.
Recall that labour workers in Nasarawa state have been on strike since the beginning of last month due to 5months unpaid salaries and new 30% salary reduction policy of the state government.
