According to Greennews.ng, the management of the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has announced the suspension of 11 students who are members of the executive committee of the History and International Studies Students Association on the campus.
This action was announced by the management on Tuesday through the university’s news bulletin released through the Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations.
The students suspension was in connection with the recent death of a 200-level student of the Department of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, Faculty of Management Science, Miss Omolara Gbadeyan.
Gbadeyan was said to have attended an illegal party and award night organised by the students’ association and held at an event centre in Igando, where she was said to have drunk an alcohol concoction leading to her death.
According to the report, the suspended students include Babatunde Arubo (Chairman); Paul Shenjobi (President); Esther Kudayah (Vice President); Mathew Balogun (General Secretary); Bidemi Eletu (Treasurer), among others.
The university added that the affected students are no longer allowed to participate in any student-related activities and should appear before a disciplinary committee.
